Better from Apple

“At Apple, we strive to reduce our impact on climate change, find ways to use greener materials and conserve resources for future generations. This video was shot on location at Apple Facilities. Now more than ever, we will work to leave the world better than we found it”

Making a difference. One app at a time

After the buzz of the WWDC conference keynote from Apple and the new OSX, iOS and a little bit of hardware it’s time for the company to get in the video/advertising period of those products. It is always a good time to watch an Apple made video. And we have not an exception here. Polished, precise, inspirational and lives you with a strange happy feeling at the end. I wish I had the same feeling with the new icons and colour palette used at their new mobile OS. I don’t want to be misunderstood! I love the clean and simplistic look of the new OS. But the choice of shapes and paint at the icons moves the target group of users to a much younger age… something like less that 22years old! At least it is still in beta stage

Ubuntu for Phones

From iOS and WebOS to Android and now Ubuntu for phones (somewhere out there is also Firefox mobile OS but this is still another story)! In this 60 seconds video you can watch the features and interaction design that characterise Ubuntu on smartphones. I am still not convinced about this concept. I know that it is still in development mode but most of the times the first video makes you smile. This smile never happened with this one. Somehow I still love the integration and graphics of the old WebOS with Palm but this marriage over long time ago. On the other hand I am an iOS user since 2009 but as I said on an older post the guys at Apple should work really hard to bring it up to date with the latest trends. Yes, iOS was revolutionary at 2007 but now is like an old ugly truck

Meet the new Windows Phone

I am big Apple fun for more than 8 years now. I am not going to lie about that. I love my iPhone and I am using it every day. Actually, it is the phone that put the milestone to change all the other phones as well. But since now the iOS is still the same. Ok, now we have iCloud and one more row for icons but nothing had really changed since the first presentation at 2007. It is a solid and still beautiful OS but it looks extremely old… aged somehow.
On the other hand we have Android. I am not going to start a huge conversation about that now, but in my opinion it is the ugliest mobile OS ever (for many reasons). Starting from the mesh on the start screens and the not consistent UI.
But there is still hope and at least for now this is originated from the least suspicious player. Yes, Microsoft! If you play a little bit with this UI and get familiarised with the concept then it actually works really beautifully. I am not going to say that I will give up my iPhone now. But maybe in the future…
